Experience
Bob Dallas practices in the areas of commercial litigation, bankruptcy, labor and employment and most recently transportation regulation and governmental affairs. Bob began his business career with BellSouth in Florida and Georgia. While at BellSouth Bob earned his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law and began his legal career in Atlanta, Georgia with Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy. After seven years with PGF&M, Bob started his own firm Shaw, Evans & Dallas in Dunwoody, Georgia. After six years with SE&D, Bob was tapped by Governor Sonny Perdue to serve as the State of Georgia Director of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety where he served for Perdue's two terms of office.
As a private practitioner Bob earned an AV Martindale Hubbard rating and became active in civic affairs. These include serving fifteen years as a planning commissioner in DeKalb County, Georgia, where he now chairs the Dunwoody Planning Commission and serves as an executive board member of the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce. As part of his service to the State in the Perdue Administration, Bob was closely involved with legislators and other policy leaders in the development of transportation policy for the State of Georgia and works closely with state and local leaders regarding implementing local transportation and mobility projects.
Past civic affiliations include serving as a founder and president of Safe Kids of Georgia; DeKalb County District One Planning Commissioner; DeKalb County Children's Initiative and Collaborative Board co-Chair; Dunwoody Home Owners Association Board Member, Dunwoody YES! Board Member; Dunwoody Rotary Board Member; Spruill Center for the Arts President and Board Member; DeKalb County Blue Ribbon Sales Tax Committee Study Commission member; Citizens for Property Tax Relief in DeKalb County Chair; Georgia State University College of Law Alumni Club President; Georgia State University Alumni Club President's Committee President. In 1996 Bob received the Florida Bar Association's Out of State Practitioner's Pro Bono Award.
