Our firm has defended over two hundred lawsuits filed by
individuals alleging injuries from exposure to various toxic
chemicals. We have prepared numerous toxic tort cases for
trial and have obtained defense verdicts in the cases we
have tried. One defense verdict was in a case of brain damage
allegedly caused by exposure to solvents. Another defense
verdict was in a case of RADS (Reactive Airways Dysfunction
Syndrome) allegedly caused by exposure to chlorine. Our
experience defending toxic tort claims includes Daubert
motions and hearings, state court motions and hearings pertaining
to the admissibility of scientific evidence, and handling
numerous expert witnesses (including neurologists, neuropsychologists,
psychiatrists, psychologists, toxicologists, radiologists,
neurotoxicologists, nephrologists, entomologists, and occupational
medicine physicians).
We have handled claims of solvent induced toxic encephalopathy,
reactive airways dysfunction syndrome, chemical pneumonia,
chemical bronchitis, asbestosis, multiple chemical sensitivity
disorder, and various cancer claims. Some of the chemicals
involved in our cases have been trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene,
1,1,1, trichloroethane, mineral spirits, diesel fuel/diesel
exhaust, asbestos, anhydrous ammonia, chlorine, cadmium,
toluene, benzene, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and polyaromatic
hydrocarbons. The firm also successfully handled a case
involving the loss of both kidneys from a disease known
as Goodpasture's Syndrome, allegedly caused by exposure
to toxic substances.
