Amy Pettway, Associate

Amy joined the firm in January of 2008.  Before joining the firm, Amy worked for the Atlanta Legal Aid Society as a civil practice attorney for two years. In this capacity, she represented individuals in Clayton and South Fulton counties on diverse matters including housing, domestic relations and consumer law. 

Amy is licensed to practice in New York and Georgia. Born and raised in New York City, Amy graduated from New York Law School cum laude as an evening student. She also served as a Notes and Comments Editor for the Journal of Human Rights. During law school, Amy worked full time as a legal support specialist and trainer for SAGA, Inc., a New York-based case management software firm, servicing several hundred law firms with negligence-based practices.  After nearly eight years with SAGA, Amy joined the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society of New York where she began her trial practice on behalf of children on a myriad of family court issues. In June of 2005, Amy became certified with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

Amy is admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, Georgia Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the New York Court of Appeals, Second Department.  Amy is an active member with the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL). She is one of the founders of GAWL's Southside Chapter and currently serves as its Vice President. She also served two terms as Newsletter Editor and Officer of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA). Amy is also a member of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Litigation Section.  She and her husband Wayne have one daughter, Rachel Grace. The Pettways are members of South Atlanta Community Church.
