Sandra joined the firm in 1992 and was the first associate to become a shareholder. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sandra moved to Atlanta in 1986 to attend law school on scholarship at Georgia State. While in law school, she served as a Notes and Comments Editor for the Law Review and interned with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission. She also explored patent and trademark litigation clerking for a small intellectual property practice. She started her law career with a boutique business firm in Atlanta’s Buckhead area, assisting clients in the purchase and sale of businesses and forming and organizing business entities. She also served briefly as legal counsel to the Georgia Commissioner of Insurance in regulation enforcement matters.
Sandra is one of the firm’s more experienced trial attorneys. Her practice has taken her into state and federal courts throughout Georgia and into Tennessee. She specializes in emergency matters and disputes arising out of business relationships and real property rights. She has also enjoyed notable success in Georgia’s state and federal appeals courts.
Law is a second career for Sandra. After graduating from college, she taught middle and high school in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her teaching experience serves her well when talking to judges, juries, and witnesses. Her strong analytical, writing, and oratory skills have brought notable success in our motions and appellate practice. In the course of her practice here, she has helped to shape the law in Georgia on a number of important issues. She is admitted to practice in all of the state courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States Federal Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Sandra is the proud parent of a son, John, who is now in his 20’s. Aside from family, her other devotion is consulting with Atlanta area dog rescue organizations on charitable fundraising and legal matters. In 2006, she founded Diggity Dog Humane Society as the vehicle for delivering those volunteer services. Sandra is also a committed member of Roswell United Methodist Church and the longstanding Pathfinders Sunday School class.
