Patrice came to the firm in November of 2007. Patrice began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s Fifth Judicial Circuit, which is located in Central Florida and comprised of Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, and Sumter counties. Though she practiced primarily in Citrus and Marion counties, Patrice has worked on matters all over the Circuit. Patrice prosecuted more than 50 misdemeanor cases, gaining significant courtroom experience. After prosecuting misdemeanor cases for a year, Patrice was promoted to the felony division. Working primarily in Marion County in Ocala, Patrice tried numerous felony cases ranging from DUI involving serious bodily injury to large scale drug possession and distribution offenses. While serving as a prosecutor, Patrice was a member of the invitation-only Citrus-Hernando County Inns of Court.
Patrice was born December 11, 1976 in St. Catherine, Jamaica. Patrice and her family emigrated to the United States when Patrice was eight and settled in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Patrice graduated from the Magnet program for International Studies at Hallandale High School. She attended Rutgers University as a James Dickinson Carr Scholar and received a Bachelor of Arts degree as a double major in Political Science and Sociology in 2000. Returning to Florida, Patrice attended the University of Florida's Levin College of Law, graduating with her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, in May of 2004.
Patrice relocated to Atlanta in 2006. Prior to joining the firm, she worked on complex corporate cases involving securities, bankruptcy and fiduciary issues at a local Fortune 500 company. In this position, Patrice became proficient in both manual and electronic document searches, reviews and productions involving hundreds of thousands of documents.
Patrice is a member of The Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. Patrice is involved with the High Museum of Art and its member group, Art Partners, a social and volunteer organization that supports the High with events, programs and fundraisers.
